The Freedom Fund
Thank you for visiting us online!
From its very founding in 1977, Christendom took the heroic stance of rejecting all federal funding. Today, we are the only fully-accredited Catholic College in America that does not accept any federal money. Accepting federal funding would open the door to massive government intrusion, such as making us subject to Title IX mandates, which include policies that are contrary to Catholic teaching. Federal funding also requires administrative structures that increase education costs and degrade the quality of student services.
Because of our commitment to remain free of federal funding for our students, Christendom College uniquely relies on the financial support of faithful friends like you. The Freedom Fund will help cover the cost we incur each year by providing federal-free financial aid. More than 8 out of 10 Christendom students rely on federal-free financial aid provided by the College itself! The cost to the college is $5.5 million in federal-free student financial assistance! This is a tremendous investment the college is required to make that only a handful of other colleges in the country emulate. And the cost is rising each year.
Please, help our students to remain free!!
The Freedom Fund will ensure that each year we have the resources to:
- Achieve financial and institutional stability to protect the future of the College community by generating permanent financial resources.
- Maintain academic excellence to attract the best and brightest students in America with federal-free competitive scholarships and financial support.
- Attract world-class faculty and staff.
- Enable loan repayment flexibility, including forgiving loans for religious who take vows of poverty.
